- Wage offer available, GDL stubbornly refuses to negotiate
Chemnitz - The City-Bahn Chemnitz will be on strike again on Friday, 14 June 2024 from 5 pm by the German Train Drivers' Union (GDL). The GDL has announced the end of the 15th strike for Monday, 17 June at 5 a.m.
With one day's notice, the GDL has announced its next weekend strike. Once again, the union is emphasising the alleged lack of an offer from City-Bahn. This is false. The company has repeatedly made proposals to settle the wage dispute quickly. The most recent, dated 6 June 2024, included a reduction in working hours and the fixing of wage increases. The union rejects all of this and stubbornly insists on the anticipated promise of a 35-hour week with full pay compensation, if only as a basic condition for a meeting.
