Vandals deface football trains

  • City-Bahn ran extra feeder trains for FCE fans at the weekend
  • Regio shuttles were littered and extensively covered with stickers
  • City-Bahn examines claims for damages

Aue - Football fans from FC Erzgebirge Aue defaced two special football trains on the C13 line of the City-Bahn on Saturday (1 February 2025).

Both the morning feeder train to Chemnitz and the evening train back to Aue were extensively defaced and littered with stickers. City-Bahn Managing Director Friedbert Straube: "So far, we haven't experienced that on our railways. The football fans were peaceful. The damage now caused is in the four-figure range."

Until the vehicles can be cleaned, they must continue to be used for regular services. City-Bahn asks for your understanding and is examining whether and, if so, how claims for damages can be made.

FC Erzgebirge Aue lost their away match against Dynamo Dresden on Saturday. The specially deployed City-Bahn feeder buses had taken the fans to Chemnitz main station (in the direction of Dresden) - and back again from Chemnitz.
