Luggage (in this sense also bicycles or containers for animals) can only be taken on board if the necessary space is available in the vehicles, if this does not jeopardise safety and does not affect other passengers.
The travelling personnel will decide on a case-by-case basis where to take the passenger and where to accommodate them.
The carriage of bicycles is free of charge for users of the VMS fare and DB regional tickets. This also includes children's bicycles, bicycle trailers, recumbent bicycles, tandems, e-bikes, folded electric scooters and pedelecs.
Users of the Deutschlandticket or the Germany Job Ticket must purchase the additional ticket "VMS-DeutschlandTicket+" or buy a corresponding ticket at the fare for children for the required price level.
The following are excluded from carriage: three-wheeled bicycles, means of transport with internal combustion engines, mopeds, load carriers and wheelchairs connected to special carriers, as well as vehicles that are not folded up and require registration or insurance.
Small animals in containers are transported free of charge if they are accommodated in the passenger compartment. For animals outside of containers, a single ticket or a day ticket at the child fare must be purchased. They may not be accommodated in a seat.
Dogs must be kept on a short lead and must wear a suitable muzzle.
Guide dogs for the blind that accompany a blind person and guide dogs for the disabled in accordance with SGB IX as well as guide dogs for the blind and guide dogs for the disabled in training must wear a guide dog harness or blanket and are exempt from the muzzle requirement.
Holders of monthly season tickets at the standard rate or 9 o'clock monthly season tickets can take a dog with them free of charge.
Blind people with the mark "Bl" on their severely disabled person's pass can take a guide dog as well as an accompanying person with a dog free of charge.
