Our qualified and experienced trainers will always be at your side throughout your apprenticeship and afterwards. As an apprentice, you will work in all departments, as each one is essential for the smooth running of the railway. Mutual understanding for the work of our colleagues enables us to successfully solve even the most difficult tasks together. You will gain an insight into our administration, work in the control centre, create timetables in operations preparation, shunt and look after our passengers.

On the rails, we combine the railway and urban tram network to form an efficient and integrated public transport system and offer people in the central Saxon conurbation a reliable, barrier-free and transfer-free transport connection to Chemnitz city centre - in the interests of the environment and for sustainable regional transport development.
To make it work with us, you need
- At least a good secondary school leaving certificate or completed vocational training
- Fascination for railway operations
- Fun with technology, logical understanding and manual skills
- Very good ability to concentrate, sense of responsibility, reliability and ability to work in a team
- Stress resistance and physical and mental fitness
- Willingness to work in shifts and on Sundays and public holidays
- Sound knowledge of German, both written and spoken
