Chemnitz - A City-Bahn vehicle will become a free taxi at the weekend - at least for visitors to the legendary Heizhausfest at the Saxon Railway Museum (SEM).
The weekend from 23 to 25 August 2024 is highlighted in the SEM calendar of events: The 31st Heizhausfest invites railway enthusiasts to Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf.
The City-Bahn supports the railway festival with a shuttle service: a railway vehicle takes on the role of a high-capacity taxi, travelling between the main entrance and the festival site from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon. Journey distance: around 750 metres.
All guests with a valid admission ticket may use the shuttle free of charge.
City Rail Managing Director: "We are delighted to be able to support this event. The SEM is an important partner of the City-Bahn."
The organisers are expecting around 9000 visitors from Germany and abroad. More than 70 historic steam, diesel and electric locomotives will be on display. The programme includes cab rides on steam locomotives and excursions. All information: www.sem-chemnitz.de
