- Line currently still ends at Chemnitz main station
- Defective Citylink regional light rail system will be operational again next week
- From Monday, 16 September 2024, trains will run on schedule through Chemnitz to Technopark
Chemnitz - After several months of construction, a Citylink regional light rail line that was involved in an accident will be repaired and ready for use again from Monday. This means that the C15 Hainichen Chemnitz line will be able to run as normal to Chemnitz Technopark from Monday, 16 September 2024.
The Citylink hit a fallen tree at the beginning of the year and was badly damaged. The driver has since recovered and is back on duty. During the repair period, Regio shuttles stepped in, but due to their design, they cannot travel through Chemnitz on the tram network. Therefore, the line from Hainichen ended at Chemnitz main station.
City-Bahn Managing Director Friedbert Straube: "I am very pleased that the Citylink has finally been repaired and can be used again. I would like to thank all passengers for their patience."
The return to the regular timetable will soon be visible in the electronic timetable information on city-bahn.de.
