Capital of Culture
Discover the Capital of Culture region with us!
No title without a team - we ensure the right connection to the Capital of Culture Centre.
Chemnitz is not a "one-city show", but together with the City in Focus, 38 municipalities from the surrounding area form the European Capital of Culture 2025. As the driving force behind the Chemnitz model, we connect this region by rail and make it easy to experience and enjoy by public transport.
True to the motto "C the Unseen", the European Capital of Culture 2025 invites you to discover our region, see it with different eyes and perhaps even leave the beaten track. What better way to do this than by travelling by train on our C lines.
Many projects, such as the Purple Path art and sculpture trail, can be reached in large parts without any stress or changes along our line connections - directly from Chemnitz city centre or directly into it.
On this page you will find all information about our rail-based transport services within and along the Capital of Culture Region, in particular the Opening on 18 January 2025 and beyond.
