Chemnitz - The City-Bahn Chemnitz will be on strike again from Wednesday, 19 June 2024 by the German Train Drivers' Union (GDL). The GDL has not announced the end of the 16th strike.
The GDL announced its next strike (without an exact time) to the City-Bahn management at the weekend with four days' notice - although the company has since put its third compromise proposal on the table. With the notice period, the union is complying with the ruling of the Saxon State Labour Court, according to which strikes that hinder school transport must be announced four days before they begin. Wednesday is the last day of school before the summer holidays and there are school reports in Saxony.
