Chemnitz - The City-Bahn Chemnitz will be on strike again from Friday, 7 June 2024 from 5 pm by the German Train Drivers' Union (GDL). The GDL has announced the end of the strike for Monday, 10 June at 5 a.m.
The GDL announced the weekend strike today with around two days' notice. City-Bahn Managing Director Friedbert Straube: "The pressure of the labour court ruling is having an effect. If the strike times are adhered to, school transport can be expected to run smoothly on Monday." The City-Bahn had obtained a judgement from the Chemnitz Labour Court to be allowed to transport pupils in the event of a strike.
