Chemnitz/Stollberg - In order to make optimum use of the City-Bahn fleet on the Day of Saxony weekend and at the same time be on the move for regular public transport passengers, there will be extensive timetable changes from Friday afternoon (1 September 2023) to Sunday evening (3 September 2023).
Here are the most important changes, they affect the time Friday from about 1 pm to Sunday about 7 pm:
- C 13 S (stands for Sachsentag): Runs in double traction and every hour between Chemnitz main station and Aue (Sachs). In Chemnitz, City-Bahn staff on the platforms help travellers find their way with information. Regio-Shuttle and Citylinks are used. The route of the C 13 S in Chemnitz no longer runs via Technopark, but directly via Chemnitz Süd in the direction of Aue (Sachs).
- C14: Runs between Mittweida - Hauptbahnhof - Zentralhaltestelle - Technopark and ends in Einsiedel - even on Sundays!
- C13: Runs between Burgstädt - main station - Technopark
Passengers wishing to travel to Thalheim, Zwönitz, Aue and/or back must take the C 13 S via Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof during the period described!
The stops at Lößnitz oberer Bahnhof, Niederzwönitz and Thalheim-Mitte will not be served during this period. This is due to the fact that the timetable between Chemnitz and Aue must be maintained.
City-Bahn marketing manager Stephan Baier: "The transport concept for the Day of the Saxons takes into account the interests of both festival visitors and passengers who rely on our trains in the Chemnitz area. Nevertheless, I hope for your understanding should there be any inconvenience."
We ask all passengers who would like to travel on the City-Bahn between Friday 1 pm and Sunday 7 pm to check our website before travelling: at current messages timetables can be found here. At www.vms.de all current connections are displayed in the (electronic) timetable information IN REAL TIME.
Note for passengers with reduced mobility: The platform length of the stops is also sufficient for trains in double traction, boarding and alighting is guaranteed. For wheelchair users: There are ramps for boarding and alighting on all vehicles. Please simply make yourself known to the customer advisor or, if necessary, the train driver.
